Herniated Discs
Conservative, non-surgical care for disc bulges and herniations causing back pain, leg pain, or nerve symptoms.
What a herniation actually is
Disc material that's bulged or pushed beyond its normal envelope, often pressing on a nearby nerve root. The good news: most herniations resolve with conservative care โ surgery is the last option, not the first.
What conservative care looks like
Specific spinal mechanics work to decompress the involved level, soft-tissue work to release the protective muscle guarding around it, and a graded movement program to load the disc safely as it heals.
When we refer out
If we see red-flag signs โ progressive weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle anesthesia โ we refer immediately. Most patients never get close to that point and recover fully with conservative care.
